Highlights from kidsong-2003 & 2004 Featuring Billy Jonas
In 2003 and again in 2004, the Hastings Education Foundation presented Kidsong, a family concert fundraiser, to full and enthusiastic audiences of kids and parents at the Hastings High School auditorium.
The hour-long interactive concerts featured folk musciain Billy Jonas, who uses "industrial re-percussion" instruments made from recycled objects to create what one newspaper described as "an explosion of energy." Jonas has performed at the Kennedy Center, the Philadelphia Folk Festival and other notable venues and shared the stage with famous acoustic artists such as Patti Larkin, Ani DeFranco and Pete Seeger.
At both concerts, kids and their parents were bouncing in their seats, dancing in the aisles, and making music on the stage, led on by Billy's infectious rhythms and rhymes.
